Amazing First Summer Golf Camp at Wellington College

2022 was a landmark year for RV Golf Schools. Not only were we able to restart our summer golf camps after the pandemic but we launched our first golf camp away from St Andrews. Adding an additional location had been on the cards due to growing numbers but ‘The Open’ being played at St Andrews resulted in limited availability at the start of July so a second venue was essential.

Having looked into a number of options Wellington College was the standout location. Close to London and Heathrow airport makes accessibility easy but more importantly the quality of the facilities are outstanding. Boasting its own 9 hole golf course, driving range, putting green, short game area and indoor coaching studio in the clubhouse all the camp coaching and practice could take place on campus reducing travel times.

Wellington is also surrounded by numerous stunning golf courses ensuring our camp golfers had a wide variety of courses for their afternoon golf. Players on our Ultimate camp had the opportunity to play Sunningdale Heath, Windlesham and The Springs to name a few whilst the High Performance golfers were treated to rounds at Sunningdale, East Berkshire and Woking golf clubs.

The High Performance golfers also had the opportunity to compete in an ISGT 54 hole WAGR ranking event allowing them to test their skills against a strong field of camp golfers, local juniors and our camp interns. The 2022 event at The Springs was won by our very own Camp Intern Timothy Chan.

The facilities at Wellington are equally impressive off the course with amazing food in the dinning hall, great accommodation and access to facilities for our evening activities. These included football, table tennis, quiz night and movie night.

All in all it was an amazing first summer at Wellington and it will be no surprise that we confirmed our booking for 2023 straight away. We are very excited to be retuning in July and hope we have an equally scorching experience in 2023.
